provides first aid service for the people of the island and
Hithadhu Regional Hospital is seen as the main Health Care
facility within a close accessible proximity.
Traditional
Medicine
Prior to the introduction of
western medicine, during the early fifties of the twentieth
century, indigenous medicine or Dhivehi-beys was used in Maradhu
as in other islands of the Maldives
Health
Education
The development of human
resources for health seen as a developmental priority. Several
youths from Maradhu island are undergoing medical and nursing
training in Male' and overseas has increased to a great extent.
